Human Resources Manager
The Human Resource Manager will help lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including administering pay, benefits, and leave, onboarding new employees, and enforcing company policies and practices.

• Manage 401k enrollment process for new hires and current employees.

• Conduct new hire benefits orientation and enrollment.
• Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.
• Perform state and local regulatory filing.

• Ensure timely compliance filing.
• Work closely with the HR team and principals to ensure all new hires have the necessary hardware, software,

• As needed, communicate important details to new hires prior to their start date, including important company
policies, work schedules, dress code, and parking information.
• Work closely with Marketing to develop and prepare onboarding welcome packages for each new hire.

DATABASE MANAGEMENT
• Coordinate out-processing (benefits termination, final paycheck calculations, electronic records update, physical
records update/movement) with applicable departments (IT, payroll, licensing).
• Setup or update employee records, and process terminations in the human resources information system.
• Coordinate employment visas and permanent residency processing with DesignForce’s
support.
• Ensure up to date compliance postings in each office and annual filings.
• Capture and input all relevant payroll status changes (new name, address, promotions, transfers,
benefits, hours, miscellaneous deductions, taxes, direct deposits, etc.) in coordination with the
Accounting department.
• Periodically monitor ACA compliance dashboard through the human resources information
system.
• Collect necessary paperwork and other related documents from the new hire.

STRATEGIC PLANNING
• Research new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement of the quality of
services provided.
• Support leaders and employees in managing employee relations opportunities, issues, or
concerns.
• Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate various office events including but not limited
to holiday parties, volunteering outings, and new hire lunches.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human
resources, talent management, and employment law; applying this knowledge to communicate
changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
• Interpret and administer policies, procedures, and programs, while ensuring compliance with
applicable Federal and State statutes.

The Senior Engineer, Specialty will have the highest levels of technical proficiency in all aspects of civil engineering design and support other project staff on all aspects of project execution. TECHNICAL EFFECTIVENESS

  • Boasts 3-10 years of work experience within the Northern Virginia region; specific experience within Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington, Stafford, and Culpeper Counties is preferred.  Experience within other adjoining localities, not specifically named, in the region is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of place-making in both urban and suburban settings.
  • Experience with and ability to complete feasibility studies, yield studies, zoning analyses, due diligence checklists, and identify potential site constraints and remedies.
  • Candidate shall possess experience in preparing design guidelines, master zoning plans, generalized development plans, and conceptual and/or final development plans.
  • Candidate shall possess working knowledge of the entitlement process within one or more of the jurisdictions listed above.  The entitlement process may include applications for rezonings, special use permits, special exceptions, special permits, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of design and construction drawings for both landscape and general site designs including layout, grading, and hardscape.
  • Collaborate with team members to guide and shape the design and delivery of projects of various scales and types.
  • Assist and provide ideas for enhancement in the development of conceptual designs using a variety of hand-drawn and digital techniques.
  • Progressively build and share expertise in design platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
  • Prepare digital graphics and renderings with Adobe Creative Suite and presentation software.
  • Provide graphic design, technical production, urban and landscape design, and site planning expertise for a variety of projects including but not limited to mixed-use residential development, streetscapes, parks, and other community facility design.
